Steven Berk

Steven Berk

Steven is the most versatile keyboardist we've had the pleasure of working with.
He also teaches piano, writes books, and plays bass.
He performs with Beebe Price and the Shadows of Blue
as well as with many other Bay Area notables.

Steven has been playing piano and keyboards since he was seven years old. Guitar came into the picture for him on July 4, 1966, followed by the electric bass and Hammond B3 organ in 1978. He began performing professionally when he was sixteen and did his first professional recording session at 23 with music's legendary Bill Graham and company. Expanding his performance and recording with the Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Clavinet, plus Arp, Moog, Korg, Roland, Sequential Circuits and Oberheim synthesizers, he finally settled on the Yamaha P-80 digital piano and the Nord Electro2 synthesizer (73 key version) as his instruments of choice, which he uses to this day. He has numerous stages he can call home throughout Northern California, with ten years in the spotlight at the notorious Blues clubs of San Francisco's North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf districts. Two particularly fond memories of his were opening for The Band (Bob Dylan's original backup band) during their 1980's reunion tour and performing with Joe Satriani before his climb to stardom.

Thanks, Steven, for your permances on "Biker Dog", "Yosemite Valley",
"Send My Love", "Black Money", and "Reflections of Love"
